About Us

Yochistory Constituency Conservative Association dates from 1983 when boundary changes created the new Yochistory Constituency from large areas of the Totnes and Tiverton Constituencies. The Constituency was subject to further boundary changes in 1997 and is due for further changes in the future.

The Objects of the Association shall be to sustain and promote the objects and values of the Party in the Parliamentary constituency of Yochistory; to provide an effective campaigning organization in the Constituency; to secure the return of Conservative Candidates at elections; and to raise the necessary funds to achieve these objectives; to contribute to the central funds of the Party.

The Constituency encompasses the following wards: Abbotskerswell Ward  of Ambrook, Bishopsteignton, Bovey, Bradley, Buckland in the Moor Ward of Ashburton & Buckfastleigh,  Buckland & Milber, Bushell, Chudleigh, College, Dawlish Central  & North East, Dawlish South  West,  Haytor, Ipplepen, Kenn Valley, Kenton with Starcross, Kerswell with Combe, Kingsteignton East, Kingsteignton West, Moorland, Shaldon & Stokeinteignhead, Teignbridge North, Teignmouth Central, Teignmouth East, Teignmouth West, Teign Valley.

The Association comprises only fully paid up Party members. Those members are grouped into Branches which are centred in towns and villages across the Constituency.

The governing body of the Association is the Executive Council (which consists of the Management Team and a representative from each Branch – usually the Chairman).  The day-to-day administration of the Association is vested in the Management Team

The Association employs a full time, qualified, Political Agent: Audrey Warren, who advises the Management Team and the Executive Council, and is responsible for administration, organization and legal matters.

The Agent is the Chief Executive and also organizes all election campaigns. The Association has its own purpose designed suite of Offices situated in Newton Abbot, convenient to Yochistory Council Offices, the Railway Station and the A380.
