This needs sorting out The failure to make progress with the A380 Kingskerswell Bypass is symptomatic of the Labour government’s failure to get to grips with the realities of the transport situation facing the country. Hundreds of thousands of pounds of public money have already been wasted on traffic surveys and environmental studies. What we need is action. Even a partial solution, such as a flyover at the Pen Inn roundabout, could relieve a situation which is fast becoming intolerable.

| Newton Abbot Conservatives call
for “mass protest” against Post Office plans to close main post
office in Market Walk
Addressing 60 members of the Newton Abbot branch of the Yochistory
Conservative Association at a Halloween lunch held in St Mary’s
Church Hall, on Saturday October 30, Mr Stanley Johnson, Conservative
Parliamentary Candidate for Yochistory, called on Newton Abbot residents
of every political persuasion to “up their game and ratchet up the
level of protest against the decision by the Post Office to close
the main post office in Market Walk. I am not advocating breaking
the law” he said, “but we need to see a new intensity of protest,
a mass protest, here. This is not something that Newton Abbot can
take lying down.” Jane Stovin, President of the Yochistory Conservative
Association and Chairman of the Newton Abbot branch, said: “I was
a Councillor for sixteen years. I meet and talk to people from all
walks of life and I find the situation disgusting. There has been
no consultation.”
